CHAPTER SEVEN

I had absolutely no idea what time it was when I woke up the next morning. I was in a foreign place in a foreign bed. I was in Nicki’s bed. I was buried in a mountain of pillows and I was under the comforter naked. Through sleepy eyes I looked to my left and then to my right. Nicki, the bossiest woman that ever lived was not in bed. Shit, what time is it? My cell phone was beside the bed on the nightstand. I grabbed it and it said eight twenty-three. Shit, I was supposed to be at work at seven-thirty. I sat up in bed and looked around the room. My clothes were neatly thrown over a big antique chair in the corner.

The bedroom door opened and Nicki walked in completely dressed, pressed and put together.

“Morning, you want coffee?”

“You have time to shower and then we got to go.”

“I will get you some coffee. Cream and sugar?”

“Okay, I’ll get that. Towels and everything you need are in the bathroom.”

She left me alone in her bedroom. I went into her connecting master bathroom. I turned on the shower and jumped in and washed all the sex and sleep off of me. I grabbed a towel and dried off. I wrapped the towel around my waist. Minutes late when I went back into the bedroom she was coming in with a cup of coffee.

“Here you go.” She handed a fresh cup of Joe over to me. I took it in my hands.

“Thanks.” I took a sip. It wasn’t too hot but it was the best coffee I ever tasted.
